Hi everyone! My name is Emilee Koskey, and I'm the owner of Enhanced by Emilee. My interest in the beauty industry has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a pre-teen and teenager, I struggled immensely with acne. My self esteem was impacted tremendously and I remember spending hours in tears over my skin. I loved makeup and the creativity it allowed me to have, but felt like I couldn't use it on my sensitive and inflamed skin. At the same time, I wanted to cover my acne and scars with makeup. I felt so hopeless and believed my skin would never improve. Because of this, I began doing my own research about skin and ingredients to help different types of acne. Eventually, after hours upon hours of research and finding what worked for me, I was able to manage my acne and fade my scarring and hyperpigmentation to a degree I'd never even thought possible. After graduating from Wausau East High School in January of 2024, I began working as a Beauty Advisor at Ulta Beauty in Rib Mountain. Working there solidified my passion for the industry as I got to work one-on-one with guests, helping them to find the right skincare and makeup for their needs. I also realized during this time that the average person truly knows little to nothing about the nitty gritty details of the products they're choosing. I often had to be brutally honest with guests that the products they were using were either doing nothing for their skin or, even worse, harming it. I knew that I wanted to use my knowledge of skin and makeup to help the everyday person feel better about themselves. In May of 2024, I began the Esthiology course at the State College of Beauty Culture in Wausau. After 600 theory and practical hours and two state board exams, I graduated in October as a board certified licensed esthetician, and also certified in dermaplaning. I explored many different spas after graduating, only to realize that I didn't find any were a good fit for me. Whether it be because they focused on relaxation rather than results in their facials, used product lines that I didn't believe to be effective, or were just not truly focused on helping their clients achieve their desired results. It was then I decided my best option would be to start my own business. After looking into many different product lines, I came upon Face Reality, an acne-safe, acne-targeted, professional skincare line with results that speak volumes. With this, I decided to take the acne certification course with them, and am now a Face Reality Acne Specialist. With Enhanced by Emilee, I want every client to know that I have their best interest in mind and the products that I use I truly believe in and use on my own skin. I know what it's like to feel insecure or hopeless about your skin, and I'm determined to help as many people as I can to feel beautiful. No BS, no marketing tactics, no deception or little white lies. I want to be a business that people know they can trust to be completely honest with them, even if it seems a little brutal. I'm here to help, not sugarcoat and focus on selling products and services I'm not passionate about. Enhanced by Emilee is starting out with just me, offering makeup applications and skincare consultations to help the everyday person understand their skin better, as well as partnering with Face Reality to offer monthly consultations and customized regimens to those struggling with acne. In the future, I'm planning on expanding my business to a physical location and adding other services as well.
